Measure QR code interactions for Interactive Video Ads.

What launched?

In September 2024, Amazon Ads launched self-service QR code reporting for Interactive Video Ads (IVA). With this launch, IVA advertisers that sell on Amazon and sell off of Amazon will now see QR code scans reported as part of the existing click metrics. And for those that sell on Amazon, they will now get conversions that stem from the QR code scans reported as part of the existing conversion metrics.

New Custom Report

In Amazon DSP reports, advertiser can create a new report or edit an existing report, under “Configuration” select “Traffic” category.

Customize columns

Select “E-commerce conversions” category and select relevant conversion metrics (e.g. DPV clicks).

Amazon Ads Console

In Amazon Ad Console, advertiser can go to ‘Campaigns’ or ‘Targeting’ page.

Customize columns

Select relevant conversions metrics from the ‘Performance’ and ‘Conversions’ category.

Why is it important?

By incorporating QR code insights into Amazon DSP reporting and Sponsored TV (ST) reporting, advertisers can gain a comprehensive understanding of customer engagement resulting from their interactive ad experiences. These insights are seamlessly incorporated into existing click and conversion metrics reporting, allowing you to run your next report as simple as before.

Who can use it?

  • Amazon DSP advertisers can access QR code measurement using Amazon DSP Campaign Manager, Amazon DSP Report Center and the Amazon DSP Offline API. ST advertisers can access the same reporting using the Amazon Ad Console and the ST Offline API.
  • Note: For campaigns created after September 2024, advertisers will observe an increase in the click through rate (CTR) and an increase in click based conversion rate (e.g. DPV click / impressions) as click and conversion metrics will include clicks and conversion from QR code scans interaction method to provide comprehensive measurement to advertisers. (Before this launch, we reported clicks and conversions, only from TV remote click and Twitch desktop mouse click interaction methods).
