Launch announcement

Fire TV Inline Display Banner now available for Amazon DSP self-service advertisers

August 19, 2024

What launched?

Amazon has launched the ability for all Amazon DSP self-service advertisers to book Fire TV Inline Display Banner campaigns in UK, DE, FR, IT, ES, JP and IN. The Inline Display Banner sits above the fold within the Sponsored Row of the Fire TV UI on the home tab. As the user scrolls down their screen, they will pass-over this ad placement to get to content rows below the fold. When they do so, the ad unit will reveal a “Mini-Details” view, taking up about half of the users screen.

This ad unit also accepts an optional video asset (:10-:30s) with sound. Advertisers have the opportunity to set up Entertainment or digital ASIN, Prime Video Channel benefit ID, video and physical ASIN click-through destinations (only available in UK and DE). This provides an opportunity for advertisers to drive incremental reach, brand awareness and consideration.

Why is it important?

Offering Fire TV ad placements to be booked self service via Amazon DSP opens up opportunity for advertisers looking to utilize self service buying models and removes minimum spend requirements that come with managed service campaigns. This allows advertisers flexibility to launch campaigns quickly with lower SLAs compared to managed service, as well as the opportunity to optimize campaigns in real-time. Fire TV ad placements provide advertisers an opportunity to drive incremental reach, brand awareness and consideration. On average, Fire TV ad campaigns observed 2x+ incremental reach with only a 3% overlap in audience when added to Prime Video ad campaigns (Source: Amazon Internal, Jan-Mar 2024, US).
