Launch announcement

Publisher moderation is launching for Amazon DSP self-service advertisers

November 12, 2024

What launched?

We are launching Publisher moderation to all ADSP self service advertisers.

Publisher moderation is a feature that applies Amazon Ad Policies based on line item settings a creative is attached to and automatically blocks any inventory where the creative isn’t approved to run. Prior to this, the creative would not have been approved on the line item if any of the supplies had a violation. This change allows the creative-line item to continue to run on all other inventory where there are no violations. These checks include Amazon Policies for Amazon Stores, Freevee, Prime Video, Alexa Homescreen, FireTV, Fire Tablet, IMdB, and Twitch.

creative’s status

How to review the creative’s status on the line item: The “Line items” tab within the creative displays a new association status between the creative and the line items it is attached to when a publisher’s inventory is blocked due a policy violation. This will be Approved with Exceptions.

The yellow triangle will display the reason and details when hovered over.

Why is it important?

Advertisers can leverage this feature to pinpoint if a line item’s reach is impacted by a policy violation. This feature removes the need for an advertiser to update a line item’s inventory targeting if a policy violation is detected as the creative-line item will automatically continue to run on policy approved publisher inventory.

Where is the feature available?

  • North America: United States, Canada, Mexico
  • South America: Brazil
  • Europe: Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland, Turkey
  • Middle East: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates
  • Asia Pacific: Australia, India, Japan

Who can use it?

  • This feature can be used by all Amazon DSP self-service advertisers in all markets.
