A guide to Prime Video’s live sports expanding programming

In the canon of live entertainment, you’d be hard-pressed to find a unifier more powerful than sports. Whether you’re drawn in by a sweet Hail Mary pass, a last-minute buzzer beater, or the threat of a last-minute pileup in turn three, sports offers an allure that you can’t re-create anywhere else.
With streaming TV continuing to grow in popularity, Prime Video has invested extensively in expanding its coverage of the most popular sports. Prime Video is dedicated to providing its subscribers innovative ways to experience can’t-miss events from top leagues and athletes. New programming in 2025 will include the NBA and NASCAR, while the National Women’s Soccer League and the WNBA already make Prime Video a top destination to stream women’s sports today.
And of course, preparing for its third season this fall, Prime Video will stream exclusive coverage of Thursday Night Football, bringing the first game of the NFL week to viewers across the U.S. But Prime Video’s lineup runs much deeper than only American football.

Below is a rundown of sports content available on Prime Video, including what’s to come next year.
What sports are streaming on Prime Video?
Thursday Night Football
Coming this fall, Prime Video will kick off its third season of exclusive coverage of Thursday Night Football, kicking off the NFL week for viewers across the U.S. Advertisers can leverage interactive video ads, audience-based creative, and remarketing to reach fans unlike ever before. In the 2024 season, viewers will also see the return of the Black Friday Football game, as well as Prime Video’s first NFL Wild Card playoff game. Coverage from the stadium will span the entire evening, kicking off with TNF Tonight and wrapping up with TNF Nightcap, ensuring there are opportunities abound to connect with viewers.
NBA
Prime Video and the NBA have announced an 11-year global media rights agreement, beginning with the 2025–26 season. In this landmark deal, Prime Video will present the U.S. audience exclusive coverage of 66 regular-season games, including an opening-week doubleheader, a new Black Friday game, and coverage of the NBA’s in-season tournament, including the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.
Prime Video also acquired rights to exclusive postseason coverage, including every game of the NBA’s Play-In Tournament, first- and second-round playoff games, and conference finals in six of the 11 years of the deal starting in 2027.
WNBA
In 2024, Prime Video and the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) extended their existing multiyear global agreement. Starting in 2026, Prime Video will exclusively stream 30 WNBA regular-season games, a 10-game increase from 2024 and 2025, including the Commissioner’s Cup Championship. Additionally, Prime Video will stream exclusive WNBA postseason games for the first time in 2026 and beyond, including one first-round series each year, plus seven semifinal series and three WNBA Finals series over the course of the 11-year deal.
In addition to the WNBA Game of the Week, Prime Video will continue to offer live coverage of the Seattle Storm, exclusively to Prime members in the Washington State region. Coverage will be worldwide, with a few exclusions.
NASCAR
Racing fans, start your engines. Beginning in 2025, Prime Video will drop the green flag on its exclusive coverage of the NASCAR Cup Series, kicking off with the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Memorial Day weekend, Prime Video is set to be the exclusive home of five NASCAR Cup Series races in the early summer, as well as practice and qualifying races for the first half of the NASCAR season. NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be lending his expertise to coverage, analyzing races streaming on Prime Video. To complement each NASCAR Cup Series races, Prime Video will produce pre-race and post-race programming, bringing fans highlights and analysis from the track.
National Women’s Soccer League
In March 2024, Prime Video marked its inaugural season with the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), making the streamer a new home of one of the most prestigious women’s soccer leagues in the world. The multiyear rights deal makes Prime Video the exclusive home for 27 matches during the 2024 season, including 25 in the regular season, one quarterfinal playoff, and the 2024 NWSL Challenge Cup.
Additional titles
In addition to the titles already mentioned, Prime Video touts a diverse lineup of live sports, including coverage of ONE Championship mixed martial arts, Premier Boxing Champions, Overtime Elite basketball, Professional Pickleball Association, and regional coverage of the New York Yankees in the New York and Connecticut area, and the NHL’s Seattle Kraken in the Seattle area.
Prime Video Sports originals
Prime Video’s originals slate pulls the curtain back and gives fans an intimate look at some of sports’ biggest names and franchises. Prime Video takes viewers on a journey with bigger-than-life personalities including Roger Federer, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jason Kelce, and Barry Sanders. In the coming year, the library will expand a with a highly anticipated sports documentary about NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt.
